Customer collapses in shock after Massy Stores cashier said "thank you" after giving him receipt
HOLETOWN, BARBADOS – A customer was seen collapsing on the floor in shock after a cashier at Massy Stores said "thank you" after giving him the receipt for his groceries. Not expecting such an unusual level of courtesy in Barbados, the customer had no choice but to collapse right in front of the cashier.
The cashier immediately realised her mistake: being polite. The management team at Massy Stores had no choice but to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the cashier. "We would like to apologise to the customer for the courtesy provided. We endeavour to offer the most inadequate service possible, and we fell short on this occasion," a spokesman for Massy Stores said. "We are working with our staff to worsen their manners as quickly as possible," he added.
Massy Stores also installed self-service checkouts at some locations, such as their Holetown, Warrens and Worthing branches. However, customers were seen having a seamless shopping experience, so engineers were brought in to make sure the scales don't work on half of the self-service kiosks. "It real sweet, nuh! So, you scan a ting and put it pun de scales, but den de kiosk start complainin dat de ting missin, so you gotta stan lookin like a fool while yuh wait fuh somebody to come help," one customer said. "I love de hassle," they added.
