Bridgetown renamed 'Miatown' in honour of Mia Amor Mottley

BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS – In a nod to the undying gratitude to Mia Amor Mottley, the President of Barbados has announced that Bridgetown will be renamed Miatown in honour of the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley.
The Deputy Prime Minister, Santia Bradshaw, said that the news couldn't have come at a better time, now that Barbados was embarking on a national signpost replacement programme across the island.
This is fantastic news. As fellow Barbadians would be aware, the Ministry is embarking on a national signpost replacement programme across our roads and highways, and we will use the opportunity to quickly replace road signs for 'Bridgetown' with 'Miatown'. I would like to congratulate Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley on the well-deserved recognition. The entire country couldn't have asked for anything else.
The Prime Minister, well known for her humbleness, reluctantly accepted the honour, but was quick to stress that it was "on behalf of the people of Barbados".
Members of the public reacted to the news on social media, with one user, going by the name of DisgruntledBajan, writing:
Maybe now we'll actually get some missing signposts replaced across the island, which Santia promised us last year?
As a courtesy to the Leader of the Opposition, Ralph Thorne, the President of Barbados gifted him a ping-pong table, which he has proudly placed in his empty constituency office.
At publishing time, some Barbadians were left confused why so many Barbadian politicians talk so much about moving the country away from its colonial past while simultaneously defending their fancy honorific titles – and even making up new ones – like "The Most Honourable", which was accorded to the President of Barbados upon the country's attainment of republican status.
