Barbados government eager to forge closer ties with highly corrupt African countries

BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS – The authorities in Barbados are eager to forge closer ties with highly corrupt countries in West Africa, and to increase cultural exchanges between our peoples, representing a huge win-win for everyone.

"We are deeply inspired by the corruption and economic mismanagement in West Africa, like the 2024 Court of Auditors report from Senegal which uncovered misappropriation of state land by government officials, and embezzlement of taxpayer funds by state-owned enterprises," an anonymous source said. "We could learn a thing or two from our brothers and sisters in Africa," they added.

There is also a great sense of excitement with Afreximbank choosing Barbados as the location of its first overseas mission outside the continent of Africa. However, it was imperative for officers of Afreximbank to have immunity from criminal liability to set up their first overseas office in Barbados, which Members of Parliament swiftly approved while they quickly glossed over the African Export-Import Bank Act.

The Parliament of Barbados also rubber stamped Afreximbank's free acquisition of two hectares of prime land at Jemmott's Lane in the parish of Saint Michael where Afreximbank's office will be built, with ample space to also build a luxury hotel to be enjoyed by a diverse range of African oligarchs.

"This hotel will be a true work of art," an anonymous source noted. "All rooms will be tastefully decorated with 24 carat gold taps and bathtubs," they added.

Afreximbank also committed to a $7 million Urban Transformation Fund which will reportedly go towards fixing the rooftops of nearby houses so that Afreximbank officers and employees don't feel an excessive amount of cringe as they look down at the peasants from the new building at Jemmott's Lane.
