Bajan complains after being asked politely to stop vending from a front yard owned by a foreigner
SAINT JAMES, BARBADOS β A local man from Saint James is absolutely disgusted after being asked politely by his neighbour, a well-mannered gentleman from Trinidad and Tobago, to stop vending from his front yard.
The Trinidadian was seen trying to politely ask the local man to move his vending table off his property, but the local man refused and started cursing expletives.
The local man refused to leave, so the Trinidadian called the police. After the police arrived, the Trinidadian said "I ainβt want no trouble, officer. I ask he nice-nice to move he vending table off me yard, but he just cussin me up."
The police asked the local man why he was vending on his neighbour's property without their permission, to which the local man responded: "Stupse, who dese Trinis feel dem is, nuh? Dey come hey and feel dem own de whole place, man!" the local man was heard shouting.
"How you'd feel if I set up a stall on your front yard widout askin you?" the police officer asked. "You trespassin on this man's property. Move your table off he property now," the officer instructed.
The local man was visibly traumatised at an inferior non-national having the audacity to demand a Bajan to stop trespassing on their private property. "Dese foreigners feel like dey run de place, man!" he grumbled, as he packed up his vending table.
This comes just days after news of a Trini in Port of Spain was found vending from the car park of a Bajan business in Trinidad. A senior officer from Barbados was seen coming out of the fancy office building in Port of Spain to demand the Trini to move off their car park immediately. The Trini was heard apologising to the Bajan, and quickly packed up their things before leaving.
